Garbage Collection
Garbage collection for the City of Calvert is provided by Frontier Waste. Scheduled collection days are Tuesday and Friday for residential customers. (If the Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day or New Years Day holiday falls on a Tuesday or Friday, the scheduled collection day will be moved to the following day.) Customers must have their garbage out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day to be assured of pick-up. All trash must be bagged and inside the provided trash receptacle. Drivers periodically change routes so collection times may vary so be sure to have your garbage out by 7:00 a.m. ALL GARBAGE RECEPTACLES must be removed from the curb the same day as collection day.
Frontier Waste does not offer heavy or hazardous trash services. DO NOT PUT HEAVY TRASH AT THE CURB. Note that the overflow and county dumpsters located in the city yard at the corner of Burnitt St and Cedar St are also NOT FOR HEAVY OR HAZARDOUS TRASH. It is unlawful to dispose of heavy and hazardous trash here and you will be assessed a fine. New high definition cameras have been installed and violators will be ticketed.
If you have heavy and hazardous trash, the closest place to take it to is the Twin Oaks Landfill in Anderson, TX. Twin Oaks will take furniture, electronics, appliances, oil, etc. Please check their website for specific details.
